We are pleased to announce that the recipient of the four-year, undergraduate tuition certificate is Mitchell Hicks, son to Jim Hicks of Miller Paving Limited Haliburton Quarry. Mitchell will is entering first year at UOIT in the Automotive Engineering program. The tuition certificate was awarded to the student that demonstrated academic excellence, community involvement and extra-curricular activities. Preference was given to the student who showed initiative and interest in improving their community and who inspired and motivated others to become involved and achieve. Mitchell was successful in all areas; excelling academically, volunteering with the Stanhope Soccer League to coach and mentor local youth, supporting the Student Activity Council at Haliburton Highlands Secondary School and participating in athletics through school and community teams.
