NewsMiller receives the Environmental Achievement Award from the Canadian Construction AssociationAt the 2009 Canadian Construction Association Annual Conference Miller Paving received CCA's Environmental Achievement Award for its effort of incorporating used roofing shingles from both residential and commercial buildings into newly produced hot mix asphalt. Since 2002 Miller has devoted itself to advance and improve the recovery process ensuring significant technical, economical and environmentally sustainable benefits. The incorporation of this process in road construction has proven to be environmentally responsible by supporting the reduction of dumping, fuel consumption, aggregate usage as well as the conservation of energy initiatives promoted by all levels of Government in Canada and Internationally. This award acknowledges the innovator's exemplary environmental conduct by a CCA member firm. The purpose of such an award is to recognize the development and successful implementation of an engineering design, construction practice, product, and/or environmental plan or sustainable development plan. |
