At Miller, there’s a feeling of team spirit driven by the trust we have in one another. Everyone is here to help each other. As a Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Coordinator, my job is to enforce Miller’s HSE policies, one of which is to get employees safely home to their families every night. One evening after work I got a call from a driver whose tanker had rolled off the blocks and began sinking into the ground. On my way out of the hotel, a couple people asked where I was going and if they could help. I needed all the help I could get, so we hopped in the truck and went out to site. We were able to drain the tank and get it back up on it’s blocks. My management style is to pitch in and always work as a team, as opposed to me being the boss that everyone must follow. My previous manager had trust in me, and I pass that trust on to my teams. The Miller team feels like siblings to me as opposed to employees. Miller is my family.
