In working with the Southeast Cement Association many Alabama Counties have performed full depth reclamation projects and have determined the process to cost less than conventional reconstruction methods by utilizing the existing in-place materials. Many of the Counties have found once the base has been reconstructed with cement the roadway is structurally sound and can be surfaced with various wearing surfaces (hot asphalt plant mix or surface treatments).
The scope of services include field material sampling and evaluation, development of a mix design, full depth reclamation and construction of a stabilized base course utilizing Portland cement for the stabilizing additive. Also included is utility locates, erosion control (as needed), maintenance of traffic, relocation of mailboxes (as needed), installation of wearing surfaces, top dressing shoulder with seeding and mulching and clean up.
