2026 Tree Planting Event
Each year, an employee tree planting event is held at a Miller site to help us reach our goal of planting 115,000 trees and shrubs by Miller's 115th birthday in 2032. In line with Colas’ CSR goals, the planting of native trees, shrubs, and pollinator gardens contributes to the offsetting of Miller’s carbon footprint and supports local biodiversity. This year's tree planting event was special, as employees planted trees on rehabilitated land at the Boyington Pit, which is also the home of the Uxbridge Community Share Garden. Supporting Ride Smart
Miller employees were on hand to unload hundreds of donated bikes as part of our longstanding Ride Smart Program partnership with Ontario Provincial Police and Toronto Police Service. The bikes were donated by Starlight Canada and unloaded with the help of a donated forklift from Cooper Equipment Rentals. They will be kept in storage containers supplied by Miller until they are distributed to deserving members of the community. The Ride Smart program, led by New Hope Bike Community Bikes, engages youth across the province and teaches cycling skills and bike safety. Miller is proud to support this program.
Giving Back
Members of our Miller Atlantic team in Nova Scotia spent time volunteering at the new Ronald McDonald House in Halifax! They prepared a home-cooked meal of lasagna and apple crisp for families staying at the facility. Ronald McDonald House Charities offers a safe, comfortable place for families to stay close to their sick children while they receive treatment. They offer support and resources families need – including meals like the one prepared by the Miller Atlantic team. This is how our Miller members live our values every day.
