Social and community involvement are essential elements in what it means to be Miller. When we feel a sense of belonging to the communities where we live and work, we perform better as a team. We leverage our global network to make a positive local impact, building trusted relationships that enrich everyone’s quality of life.

Tree Planting Whitby April 2022

Tree Planting Initiative

In honour of Miller’s 105th anniversary we began working toward our goal of planting 105,000 native trees and shrubs on 105 sites over the next 10 years. Miller’s contributions to the COLAS Biodiversity program included tree planting events across three sites in 2022 – Whitby and Aurora Plants and Carden Quarry in Brechin. We are proud to announce that over the course of the three events more than 300 employees and their families in cooperation with tree planting contractors helped plant over 20,000 trees! We will need approximately 150 acres with over 700 trees per acre of land to meet our goal over the next 10 years. A strong commitment from employees is what will help us achieve that goal!

Hockey

Road Hockey to Conquer Cancer

Scotiabank’s Road Hockey to Conquer Cancer is the world’s largest hockey fundraiser supporting the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre. The all-day event features hundreds of road hockey games, 150 teams and over 1,700 participants, with every supporter and player united by one common goal: to conquer cancer In our lifetime. Teams consist of rookies, seasoned veterans and prominent celebrities from across North America who all come together to support this worthy cause.

For six years The Miller Group has entered a team in the tournament with a minimum fundraising goal of $10,000. Last year we raised and donated over $15,000! All money raised goes to The Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation for crucial research, therapies and treatments.
