Georgian Paving was awarded the contract to construct Simcoe County’s first roundabout in the North Simcoe area on County Road 93. This County road is the main route to Penetanguishene and the northern part of Simcoe County.

The work consisted of milling and cleanup of approximately 630,000 square yards (525,000 square meters) varying in depth from 1.5 inches (38 MM) to 8.25 inches (210 MM). Total tons of existing asphalt paving to be removed was estimated to be 156,225 tons (141,727 kg).

These projects consisted of working with GDOT for an approved mix design to reconstruct and widen existing 22’ road sections with severe fatigue cracking and potholes. The roads are high volume roads that were not built to handle the truck traffic.

The Highway 7 rapidway extends from Highway 50, Vaughan to Reesor Road, Markham. The rapidway will connect the Vaughan Metropolitan Centre to the Richmond Hill/Langstaff Urban Growth Centre to the Markham Centre.
