Working at Miller has been a great experience for me. We foster a strong culture which is driven by people who are supportive and always willing to lend a helping hand. I started my career here a Business Analyst under the Southern Ontario Aggregate Division, and it’s been an exciting experience. I went from having little experience in the construction industry to understanding how we operate our business, conduct sales, and continue to be successful year after year. As an analyst some of the work I do involves market research, sales reports, and building visual dashboards. Seeing how operations are run, and how sales of material are conducted at our scale houses has helped me better understand how the work I do impacts the company. Aggregate stone products are some of the building blocks of society – literally. These products are used to build our roads, highways, and infrastructure. I take great pride in working for Miller, a company that’s a leading player in the construction industry that contributes greatly towards building Canada’s vast infrastructure.

At Miller, there’s a feeling of team spirit driven by the trust we have in one another. Everyone is here to help each other. As a Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Coordinator, my job is to enforce Miller’s HSE policies, one of which is to get employees safely home to their families every night. One evening after work I got a call from a driver whose tanker had rolled off the blocks and began sinking into the ground. On my way out of the hotel, a couple people asked where I was going and if they could help. I needed all the help I could get, so we hopped in the truck and went out to site. We were able to drain the tank and get it back up on it’s blocks. My management style is to pitch in and always work as a team, as opposed to me being the boss that everyone must follow. My previous manager had trust in me, and I pass that trust on to my teams. The Miller team feels like siblings to me as opposed to employees. Miller is my family.
